Beauty Nerds

Do you ever need help in the cosmetics aisle? There are a million different brands of lipgloss! Which one do I pick? Take a look at www.makeupalley.com. They have tons of user reviews on makeup, haircare, and skincare. I've been going to that site for years when I don't know which product to buy. Also, they have a swap where you can exchange beauty products with other members. I've never used it, but I bet it could be helpful to some people. Maybe you got something as a gift that you don't like and you can't return it. Just look and see if someone else wants it and you can exchange for something you actually want. They also have forums to discuss things as well. I'm not trying to sound like an ad, I just really like their site and I wanted to share.

Tweet tweet

I do have a twitter as I mentioned before. If you want to follow me it's twitter.com/kimnybor. If you do decide to follow me please let me know so that I don't just think you're some random person who is following me for no reason. Also, I don't have any exciting tweets up yet, so don't be disappointed please :)

Amateur!

Yes, that's me. I've never had a blog before. I've dabbled in myspace and facebook, but I've never been big on the "social networking" scene. I made a Twitter. Why you ask? Well, one of my biggest secrets is that I am obsessed with saving money. It's almost unhealthy. I will stand in the aisles of Target with my little Blackberry calculator out, calculating exactly how much money per ounce I am getting. So, I made a twitter so I could see all the good deals out there at once. I am seriously following probably every deal site out there. I guess this would be my number one money saving tip: If you have places you go to a lot (restaurants, stores, etc.) follow them on twitter. It's amazing how many little deals and coupons they post that you would never know about otherwise. What is your number one money saving tip?

My second secret is I'm a big sappy romantic. I don't really seem like it on the outside, but I am. Any song, book, magazine article, movie, tv show, ANYTHING, than mentions something romantic makes me cry. Well, at least tear up. I just love hearing about true love that's actually successful. I've been through suuuuper shitty relationships and I'm finally in one that makes me satisfied, so I know how grateful I should be. It's so hard to have your heart broken and bounce back, but it really can be worth it. I heard that a million times and it really pissed me off until I finally found true love. Well I guess I should say "true love" because everyone's definition of that will be different. I guess my definition is that I have no regrets being with the person I'm with and I can imagine being with them forever. I always heard that fighting was "healthy" for a relationship, so while I was screaming at my significant other I would be thinking, "It's all good because this is healthy, right?" So, so wrong. There is a difference between degrading the crap out of each other and occasionally disagreeing. I've finally learned that. Name calling isn't healthy. Physical violence isn't healthy. Verbal assault isn't healthy. Animated discussions voicing your own opinions are healthy. And fun. I will admit I even get a little rush out of the occasional disagreement. It's just fun to voice your opinion. Do you agree that fighting is unhealthy? Or do you just think it's something to be put up with?

Never settle is my biggest advice. My mom once told me, "It's better to be alone than wish you were alone". That has stuck with me a long time. Yes, being alone is scary. I really hate it. But it's better to hate being alone than hate the fact that you aren't strong enough to get away from the person who is making you miserable. Everyone deserves to be happy because nothing makes someone more entitled than someone else. Of course if you're a total asshole then try not to be and you will find that happiness just naturally comes to you more often. Do you think everyone deserves happiness? Or are some people just not worthy?

Beauty to me is everything from the inside out. It isn't just makeup, hair, and fashion. It's taking care of yourself and making your insides beautiful as well. It's also what's going on in your brain as well. Knowledge is absolutely beautiful. The more you know, the more you can share with the rest of the world. But yes, I am guilty of being a make-up and fashion fiend. I love watching make-up tutorials on youtube and then trying to recreate them. It's my own form of art since I can barely draw a stick figure. But, as always, I am very money conscious. You won't see me at the make-up counters in department stores. You will barely ever see me at MAC or Sephora. Where will you see me? At Ulta, Target, and Walgreens. I really don't find much difference between department store and drugstore makeup. You also won't see me at a salon getting 200 dollar highlights because I color my own hair. Now, am I knocking people who spend money on these things? Absolutely not. Sometimes I wish I could spend my money on them too, but I just don't have enough. Do you prefer spending your money making yourself look nice, or are you happy looking nice on a budget?

I'm also a health fanatic. Now, I try to eat healthy, but I'm not so great, so when I say "health fanatic" it doesn't really encompass the realm of food. But I am an avid exerciser. There's something that just makes me feel accomplished when I work out. And of course it also makes the booty look nice :) Yes, I'm a white girl with a very bootylicious backside and it takes work to keep it from hanging. I also love to read all the newest health research even though most of it changes in five minutes. Being a vegetarian makes me extra watchful about what I eat and I like to know that I am at least on somewhat of the right track. Do you try to watch how you eat and that you work out enough? What are some healthy eating tips? I could definitely use some.

What can you look forward to in future blogs? Mostly, just me sharing my views and offering tips and tricks to try to make things easier. I also love answering questions, so if you ever have any and think I might be able to help, please feel free to ask. I am extremely non judgemental. There is pretty much nothing anyone can say that will make me instantly feel a certain way about them. I'm open to all kinds.

Thanks for listening. I hope you continue to do so.

P.S. Does anyone have any other ideas for my blogs? I aim to please.
